THE VOICES

Cut down the trees,
Dig up their roots.
Bring down the sacred cows
With one or two shoots.
Break pieces that golden vase,
Do that with vex.
Jar the jade,
Break the gem,
Turn up with fierce,
Be the fox,
Strike them hard,
Says the black voice.
Think it well, think it well,
Think of the rest,
Do it well, do it well,
Do it to the best,
Swim the sea, shun the fear,
Swim down to the shore.
Climb the mountain,
Creep the valley,
Make it up to the crest.
Do your best, leave the rest,
But always do the ones you left,
Says the saint voice.
